Poem: That Coffee Lover Crush

Falling in Love with the Imaginations

When you said you liked coffee,
I started finding the aroma closer.
When you said you liked the smell of rain,
I started imagining us on a couch on a cold summer morning.

So fresh and beautiful.
Drenched with all the raindrops
Bringing down the smell of heaven.
Greener; drops of water diamonds falling
From the leaves of the plant we had in our backyard.

When you said "me too", when I said what I like,
I thought we have something.
When you said' "Come on, Nance. I'm not that bad",
A spark was lit
That was when I felt there's something in me for you.
I bet, be it just for a second,
I was running in the back of your head.

May be, I shouldn't have texted you that day.
I don't know, either I was too high or too low.
None of these would have happened.

I would still be planning your date with her.
But now, I imagine us being together
Eating together, travelling to places together.
Being alone together.
May be these imaginations are the ones whom I fell for.

When you said you liked girls in oversized outfits,
I imagined me in your sweatshirt and shorts
Cooking less, dancing more in the kitchen.
Making pancakes and coffee for you.
But tea for me, Priorities!!

Neither should I be writing for you,
Nor should I send it to you.
But I am very well known for doing things
That shouldn't be done when I get high.
Writing this for you now,
And falling in love with the imaginations then.
